Deborah West - Principal
My name is Deborah West and this is my 2nd year as the Principal of Grove Valley. This is my 26th year in education. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. I spent my first 18 years in education as an Early Childhood classroom teacher. I worked in both Oklahoma City Public Schools and Putnam City Public Schools while I was teaching. After completing my Masters in Educational Leadership, also at UCO, I was hired as an Intern at Grove Valley and spent the 2012-2013 school year here. The next year I went to Coolidge Elementary for 2 years followed by 3 years at Rose Union Elementary, serving as the Assistant Principal in both of these schools. I have an awesome husband and two daughters that are my world. My oldest is pursuing her Master’s degree at UCO and my youngest is a sophomore at OSU. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, projecting, scrapbooking, movies and spending time with my family. I am so happy to be back at Grove Valley and look forward to another wonderful year in Deer Creek!
