Teacher
It
is a joy to teach in the Deer Creek School
District. I have taught over fifteen years. Most of
my experience has been at the third grade level. I
absolutely love teaching third graders. Helping
students build their reading skills, learn
multiplication, strengthen their cursive writing,
and believe in themselves are some of my favorite
things about teaching this age. This profession
brings enormous opportunities for me to learn and
grow with the children everyday.
I
attended Oklahoma State University where I received
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood
Education. I earned a Masters Degree in Elementary
Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State
University, and I am a National Board Certified
teacher. I also teach Early Childhood Education
classes through the Canadian Valley Technology
Center in the Adult Education Program.
I
was raised on a farm in western Oklahoma. My family
was very small and only consisted of myself and an
older brother. I am a single parent. My daughter
is grown, married, and has three children. Having
my daughter and her family near in the Edmond area
is a great blessing in my life. Some of my most
treasured times are spent with my family. I also
enjoy outdoor activities, gardening, and bike
riding.
