Welcome to Grove Valley! It is
going to be a fantastic year! I am looking forward to
the privilege of being your child's teacher. This is my
5th year in the Deer Creek School District, and I am
thrilled to be part of such an amazing school and staff.
I was born and raised in
California, and moved to Edmond a few years ago from the
San Francisco area. My husband and I feel very fortunate
to live in, and be a part of the Deer Creek community. I
graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oral Roberts University
in Tulsa, and attended graduate school at the University
of San Francisco. This will be my 8th year as a teacher.
I have taught Pre-K, 2nd, and 4th grade. Teaching 2nd
grade is such a joy! It is a fabulous year full of
discovery, excitement, and growth.
I love teaching, and have known
since I was in elementary school that I wanted to spend
my career as an educator! I am a life-long learner, and
it is my desire that each of my students gain a passion
for knowledge and education as well.
My husband Matt and I have been
married for eight years. He is a Field Training
Specialist for Chesapeake. We are in the process of
adopting our son Levi from Taiwan, and can't wait to
bring him home soon! We love spending time with our
friends and family, enjoy all kinds of outdoor
activities, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the
OKC Thunder, and playing with Brodie and Oakley, our
English Setters. We love traveling, and have had the
opportunity to go all over the US and to almost every
continent! We are also very involved with People's
Church, where Matt plays percussion and I work in the
children's ministry. In my spare time I also love to
read, take pictures, cook, and spend time with friends.
I am looking forward to meeting
each of you and getting to know my class family! It is
going to be a wonderful and rewarding year!
