Chrissa Watson
Special Education
This will be my first year at Grove Valley Elementary School
teaching Special Education, but not my first year teaching.
Last year, I taught Special Education at Taft Middle School,
Oklahoma City.
Through the years, I’ve taught elementary, middle and
secondary school students in varying programs. After
receiving my BA degree, I was founder and co-owner of an
after-school program geared to developing student scholastic
levels. I then worked toward my Masters. Later, I served as
Site Coordinator for Butte County (CA) Office of Education’s
After-School and Summer School programs. Following our move
to Oklahoma, I held the position of Director of Extended
Care for students at St. Eugene’s Catholic School, Oklahoma
City, before joining the staff at Taft Middle School. In
addition, I‘ve done substitute teaching at all levels.
My husband Tom is a OK licensed plumbing
contractor with our own business based in Edmond. We have
two children: Emily, a sophomore at Deer Creek High School
and a dedicated pitcher and player for Girls’ Softball; and
Oden, a 7th grader at Deer Creek Middle School
who loves playing football and baseball.
As a teacher, I’m dedicated to developing each student to
his or her best potential. I work well with students of all
ages and abilities, and look forward to an open dialog with
parents on each student’s progress. I’m always available to
answer questions or discuss issues and am excited to be part
of the Grove Valley team.
