Allie Blundell
Hello!
My name is Allison “Allie” Blundell. I grew up in
Ardmore, Oklahoma where my family currently still
resides. Recently, in May of 2011, I graduated from
Oklahoma State University with a degree in Human
Development and Family Science with an option of Early
Childhood Education. I was a student intern at Deer
Creek Grove Valley in a Kindergarten classroom for four
months. After Grove, I continued my student teaching at
Sunset Elementary in Edmond, Oklahoma, for the remaining
four months of the school year in a second grade
classroom. I gained a wealth of knowledge being in two
different school districts and grade levels.
A little note about my philosophy:
First and foremost, I believe that all children deserve
the opportunity to learn, succeed, and grow in a
positive environment. I value the fact that all children
are unique and special individuals that have their own
learning styles as well as special talents and gifts
that should be recognized and nurtured. I believe that
the sole purpose of early childhood education is to
positively foster the three developmental domains, which
are social/emotional, physical, and cognitive
development through the use of engaging activities,
lessons, and experiences. As an educator it is important
to understand and appreciate childhood as a unique and
important part of the human life cycle.
I am so incredibly excited to start my first year of
teaching in the Deer Creek School district!
